Abundantly Appreciative

Posted on Mon December 18, 2023.

I am exceedingly grateful for all the wonderful achievements and many moments of joy and celebration this past year, in spite of all the challenges that 2023 threw at each of us, and after what felt like an interminable season of rebuilding and restoring.

What a year of abundance this has been!

Abundance literally means "more than enough", and it doesn’t only need to imply fortune and riches. When I consider my most precious resources and treasures - time, energy, family, friends, doing work I love, the opportunity for self-discovery and rejuvenation – I have been truly blessed this year, and once again I find myself in a place of wonderment and gratitude.

At this time of year, let's step back and take stock of what we need to fill our tank going forward into a new year. To focus on what brings lasting joy. The privilege of being able to give without expecting something in return; allowing abundance to bring appreciation.

Thank you to all our friends, family, clients, trade partners and suppliers for your support, sustenance, encouragement, collaboration and wisdom this past year. We love and appreciate you.

May this festive season and new year bring you an abundance of enriching opportunities, life changing moments, and joyful experiences!

With Villa Regards,

Women Who Travel

In their famous letters to each other, Vita Sackville-West once wrote to Virginia Woolf: ‘An amphitheater of mountains encloses one’s horizons and one’s footsteps. Today I climbed up to the eternal snows, and there found bright yellow poppies braving alike the glacier and the storm; and was ashamed before their courage… This is how one ought to feel, I am convinced’. To travel is to explore not only this world but also...

The Art of Slow Travel: Embrace the Journey

Slow travel or slow tourism, as some calls it, has gained popularity due to its alignment with the changing values and priorities of modern travellers.
