At Azure on the Bay, every space has been created with intention. Our design philosophy is rooted in simplicity, calm, and a deep respect for the natural beauty of Plettenberg Bay.

Natural light, open spaces, and soft coastal tones create an atmosphere that invites guests to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with nature. Each room has been thoughtfully curated with comfort, functionality, and wellbeing in mind — from the textures and materials used to the way the spaces open toward ocean and garden views.

Our procurement philosophy is underpinned by the thoughtful optimisation of repurposed wood, giving new life to beautiful natural materials while reducing waste. This approach reflects our commitment to sustainability and conscious design.

We proudly support local craftsmanship and South African design. Many of the wooden features were produced by Illovani, a local artisan wood manufacturer, while some of the furniture has been handcrafted by skilled Malawian furniture makers. Selected pieces are sourced from respected South African brands such as Cielo and Hertex Haus, known for their quality, timeless style, and locally rooted design ethos.

By combining repurposed materials, local artisanship, and carefully chosen South African brands, Azure on the Bay offers a space that feels both refined and deeply connected to its coastal surroundings.
