It’s summer in Cape Town and that means that it’s time to get out and explore this sensational city! Take a break from work and get living because this weather is far too good to waste.

Put on a pair of killer sunglasses, slap on some sunscreen and randomly select an activity from the nine listed below.

Best place to see

The incredible view from the top of Table Mountain. It is unbeatable. Hike up, if you’re active, or take the cable car if you’re part of the well-heeled brigade.

The Camps Bay Strip. No Cape Town summer is complete without a dash of the beautiful. Pull up a chair, order a cocktail and watch the bikini-clad world go by.

Best ice cream

December is synonymous with indulgence and nothing says indulge quite like a cone of Sinful’s Cookies & Cream ice cream. For maximum pleasure enjoy on the Camps Bay beach while soaking your toes in the ocean.

Best deal cocktails

Beluga offers half price on their full cocktail menu between 6pm and 7pm. It’s a great way to end off the day and kick-start the evening.

Best afternoon tea

The Mount Nelson afternoon tea is the best way to spend a leisurely affair. Don a hat, a pair of gloves and a hoity accent for an afternoon because life is too short to live sans the sweet.

Best sushi

Nobu at The One & Only. Nothing else comes close to their new style sashimi. It is simply sublime!

Best beach

Clifton 4th is a magical beach, a place where the wind really never blows. It was also awarded Blue Flag Beach status this year making it our choice Cape Town beach.

Best sunset

Chapman’s Peak drive is the place to watch the sunset over Cape Town. We would recommend a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc but, considering the twists and turns, sobriety is a must! However if you find someone else to drive then the bottle of Sauvignon Blanc is a definite.

Best Saturday morning haunt

The Biscuit Mill, in Woodstock, injects that much needed Cape Town cool into a summer. Pick up all those things you never knew you need, but now simply have to have, at the Biscuit Mill Market every Saturday morning.
